Social networking

There is certainly a social movement occurring where social networking has closed the gap between continents. New age technology has engulfed this idea of social networking to where it can be accessed anywhere at anyone time. "there are approximately 1.4 billion people that are using social networking across the globe and quickly rising". To put it in perspective, there is approximately 300 million people living in the United States and 7.4 billion in the world. The ability to access these sites are in direct correlation to the rise in technology   and cheaper computers, smart phones, and the ability to access the internet. An "article by CNN stated, "90% of American own cell phones and computers, thus making it easier to access social networking sites". Social networking went from a younger generation fling, to engulfing the worlds population by storm. One of the most famous social networking sites is Facebook and one of the most used sites worldwide. If you live in a cave and do not know what Facebook is, it is a social networking site where you can create profile, invite friends, and communicate with one another, and has become an Icon in politics, media, and advertising. A social phenomenon that has occurred within our recent generation and the phenomenon has only just begun.

Money Cap

There is a big controversy going on Capitol Hill on whether or not a limit of fundraising should be initiated for campaigning. It has come to the point where whoever raises the most money will win the election. IS this true? I don’t believe it’s entirely true but it may inhibit the candidate to “get out there” so to speak. Obama Raised 468 million and McCain only raised 224 million (Times, 2010) in which Obama slaughtered McCain in votes. Could the amount of money Obama spent be a key factor in McCain’s struggle? Or the incompetent Sarah Palin as a running mate? Questions of this magnitude establish that it’s not entirely true that whoever wins is the one who raises the most money. Does a president win for what he stands for or money? Did Obama win because of money or the popularity amongst the lower/middle class and was this due to political campaigning. The answer is “kind of” in which his slogans were everywhere and cost money that attracted his audience, and well McCain didn’t really have to campaign since Sarah Palin is an idiot, and most of her key remarks would be channeled on an news broadcasting channel anyway causing publicity and popularity. Although presidential campaigns are a lot different in which receive fundraising and receive nationwide supporters, but local official candidate Meg Whitman is a different story. Meg Whitman Spent 119 million of her own money for her campaign, (which is the most money ever spent on a campaign in which was her own money.) (RICHMAN, Meg Whitman spends $119 million on own campaign; most ever in U.S. race, 2010) Is this wrong to use your own money as leverage to tackle your opponent? Having supporters and fundraising for your campaign is different from using your own money for governor positions and state elections. Due to the locality of elections candidates aren’t going to have the supporters as a “candidate for Presidency” and seems unfair to other runner up candidates. With recent candidates trying to buy out an election such as Bloomberg in which bought his election, (net worth of campaigning of 109 million of his own money), and Meg Whitman spending 119 million, there should be a level cap on campaigning.

Our nation is divided amongst two parties; Democratic and Republican in which disagree on practically everything and nothing ever gets done. Barack Obama was elected in 2008, and health care was his main focus for his campaign. It reflected leadership and a focal point in which was a necessity to the millions without health care. Men and women were quick to judge his actions and deny all efforts to pass a bill to regulate health Care. WHAT REGULATION? People are quick to say "no government involvement" but than are quick to say where my medicare?(a GOVERNMENT program that has been around for more then 50 or more years. Health Care companies have to much power in which they can choose who lives and who dies by turning down citizens with preexisting health problems. They amp up the price of medication, and turn down the sick. Their has to come a point where Americans stand up and say something. This new bill that Barack Obama signed and will be in effect in 2014, in which will provide affordable health care across the America. There are estimated 33 million Americans without insurance and will cover a majority of Americans. This new bill will regulate the health Care companies so that they can't turn down anyone with preexisting health Care, will also ensure that any business with 50 or more employees be forced to provide health Care for every employee and have a fine of 2000$ for each employee who does not have health care. This bill may not work and may have underlying cons, but were headed into a direction and not a stalemate. We keep delaying the inevitable to change and look where our health care companies have gotten. (The power to play god). Why question affordable health care, not being denied for having a preexisting health problem, and making health care a necessity not a luxury to all Americans. Why is health care so expensive? well the answer is simple, technology and the payment of doctors. But why is medication so expensive? Well this is where it can't be answered. If medicine costs 500 dollars per bottle? how much money do you think it takes to make? 3 dollars? Which is a 497 dollar profit... Price gouging much? (which is illegal). Its time that we accept an appropriate health care bill that regulates the money hoarding insurance companies.
